Vintage and thrift is the one category where the sourcing story is the product. A buyer on Whatnot or TikTok Shop doesn't want a used Carhartt jacket — they want the story of where it was found, the proof it's real, and the feeling of out-hunting everyone else in the room. This script is built for that psychology: medium intensity, heavy storytelling, ruthless honesty about condition.
A composite from sellers I've worked with: a vintage tee seller in Columbus ran her first lives by holding up shirts and saying "vintage tee, $25." Three sessions, almost nothing. We rebuilt the loop around the hunt — where each piece came from, what she paid for it at the bins, why this one survived thirty years. Week three, a single thrifted Detroit jacket with its sourcing story told in ninety seconds went for $180 against a $6 cost basis. Same rack. Different story.
