How to Pin Products on TikTok LIVE

✓ Last verified: 2026-10-17 · Sources checked per claim

Pinned products are the checkout aisle of your live room - without them, engaged viewers have nowhere to buy. The mechanics take five minutes to learn; the part that actually moves conversion is which product is pinned when, and that is where most sellers leave money on the table.

Setup: before you go live

In Seller Center go to LIVE - LIVE Manager, schedule or start your stream, and click Add Products. Select 5-10 items from your TikTok Shop catalog and set a discounted LIVE price for each - the LIVE-exclusive discount is the entire reason to buy now instead of later.

Set all product tags before you start. Fumbling with product links mid-stream looks unprepared and costs sales every time a viewer asks 'where is the link?' while you are digging for it.

During the stream: pin one at a time, on your demo

During the broadcast, tap the shopping cart icon and pin the product you are demonstrating right now. One pinned product at a time - the pin should always match what is in your hands. Viewers who arrive mid-demo should see the exact item being shown, not a random bestseller.

Rotate on signals, not the clock: when comments shift to a different product ('does the blue one come in large?'), that is the queue to switch. Keep each pin visible at least 10 minutes so stragglers can find it, and re-pin your anchor product whenever a selling loop restarts.

Frequently asked questions

How many products should I pin during one live?

Load 5-10 into the LIVE shopping cart before the stream, but pin one at a time. Sequence them: open with a crowd-puller (popular or heavily discounted), alternate price points, save a bestseller for mid-stream momentum, and end with a flash deal.

Why can't I add products to my live?

The usual causes: your TikTok Shop approval is still pending, the products are not active in your catalog, or you are trying from the wrong surface - product selection happens in Seller Center's LIVE Manager, not from the phone's Go Live screen.
