The first 90 days: expectation bands for a new room

Updated 2026-10-16 · Sources & methodology noted inline

FIELD NOTE: the number I wish every new seller taped to their monitor is zero — as in, zero orders in your first ten sessions is inside the normal distribution of rooms that later work. I've had this exact conversation maybe thirty times now. The seller always thinks the bands don't apply to them because their numbers feel uniquely bad. They never are. The rooms that die in month one almost never die from bad numbers; they die from a host who read bad numbers as a verdict instead of a sample.

METHODOLOGY AND AN HONEST WARNING: these bands exist because the most dangerous benchmark a new seller meets is a veteran's screenshot. The ranges below describe aggregated member sessions in their first 90 days, October 2026 revision, organic traffic, US market. They are deliberately wide downward, and if your numbers sit below them in month one, you are inside the normal distribution of rooms that later succeed — the published bands and the private reality of month one diverge by design.
