SKU Pacing: the three-speed rotation that keeps a room from getting bored

Updated 2026-10-16 · Sources & methodology noted inline

SKU pacing is the answer to a problem every live seller hits around minute 40: the host is bored, the room can feel it, and conversion quietly dies. The fix isn't more energy — it's structure. Run your products in three deliberate speeds: sprint (2-3 minutes, impulse-priced items), cruise (5-7 minutes, your core catalog), and anchor pieces (10-15 minutes, your hero products with full story and demonstration). A session that cycles sprint-cruise-cruise-anchor never sits at one tempo long enough to go stale.

Why it works: attention follows novelty, and novelty is structural, not theatrical. A host performing harder at a bored room accelerates the boredom; a host who changes the game every few minutes resets attention without demanding more of it. The three-speed structure also matches how buyers actually behave: some buy on impulse in 90 seconds, some need the full story, and a session with only one speed serves only one of those brains.
